The F Word In Classrooms: Why Failure is Essential For Learning

Webinar Series

In today’s classrooms, where academic pressure and performance metrics often boast center stage, the concept of failure is still heavily misunderstood—and often feared. But what if failure was reframed as a vital part of the learning process? Our upcoming webinar will explore exactly that, as we invite educators to shift their perspective and embrace failure as a powerful driver of growth, resilience, and deeper understanding.

This session, presented by Kai’s Education Co-Founder Ronel Schodt and featuring instructional coach Mitzi Leudtke, will examine how to create a classroom culture where failure is not only accepted but celebrated as a critical learning tool. Through real-life stories, practical examples, and mindset-shifting strategies, we’ll demonstrate how educators can help students become more confident, curious, and self-aware learners by making room for mistakes.

One of the highlights of this session is the opportunity to learn from Mitzi, whose classroom experience and thoughtful approach to student development offers a grounded, real-world lens on this topic. Mitzi brings insights from years of working with students who thrive when failure is reframed as feedback—and we’ll explore how her strategies can work in any grade level or subject area.

During the webinar, participants will discover:

  • How to Foster a Safe Space for Failure: Learn how to create an environment where students feel comfortable taking academic risks and learning from their mistakes.

  • Tools to Redefine Success: Explore frameworks and language that shift the narrative around failure from fear to growth.

  • Practical Classroom Strategies: Gain insights and techniques you can immediately apply to encourage resilience and reflective learning.

  • Certificate of Participation: All attendees will receive a certificate recognizing their commitment to building stronger, more supportive classrooms.

After the session, participants will receive follow-up resources including a session recording, reflection prompts, a failure-positive classroom toolkit, and a feedback survey. Don’t miss this opportunity to reimagine what success looks like—and how failure helps us get there.

We look forward to seeing you on Tuesday, August 5th at 4 PM CST / 5 PM EST. Let’s embrace failure—and empower our students in the process.
