KaiLab (Formerly Kai's Clan)
Setting up
What do I need for KaiLab?
To use KaiLab...
You will need
- KaiLab robot kit
- Internet access (you’ll need your IT to whitelist Kai’s networks)
- 1 x Android, iPhone or iPad (this is for Kai’s Eye robot tracker and can be an older device with just WiFi)
- Floor space around 6’ x 6’
- User Guide
Students will need
- PC, Chromebook or iPads
Optional
- Oculus Quest VR 1,2,3 (to view the 3D virtual environments)
What is the best placement for KaiLab in a room?
The ideal space for setting up KaiLab would be a floor space of 6'x6' out of direct sunlight.
Always have the logo side of the mat facing student as that is the mats south side and when students are coding, this will be easier for them to orientate their virtual map view to the phyiscal mat.
It is best to place the tripod with Kai’s Eye robot tracker phone against a wall and close to a power source, so the tripod stays out the way of students moving around and also so the phone can remain powered during use.
