Seeing Through the District Lens
Or, How Kai’s Education Meets K–5 Needs With Cross-Curricular, Scaffolded, Hands-On Learning
Introduction: A Year of Change & Clarity
This past year, economic uncertainty gave districts a chance to slow down and reassess what really matters in K–5 education. At Kai’s Education, we’re committed to building tools that meet districts where they are—helping teachers and students thrive in practical, hands-on ways.
“Through this reverse professional development, you can see the joy and learning on our teachers' faces when they actually get to learn from students. And the really natural and organic thing about all of this is that it was only one classroom that really needed to take this original initiative and one teacher."
Ethan Dado, Eden Prairie School District

What Districts Are Really Asking For
Districts are seeking cross-curricular, scaffolded, and fully inclusive learning tools for K–5 students. They want solutions that engage students actively, even off-screen, and that integrate computational thinking with math, literacy, and social-emotional learning.
At the same time, schools face real challenges: budget constraints, staffing shortages, and the need for tools that are easy for any teacher to use.
The Kai’s Education Approach
Kai’s Education offers a suite of products designed to meet these needs while keeping learning playful and meaningful.
- KaiBot introduces tactile, screen-free coding foundations.
- Kainundrum brings collaborative project-based learning to prepare students for their future careers.
- Market Math and Literacy Kitchen provide applied, real-world learning.
- And for SEL, the new Dragon of Disengagement interactive game, will support social-emotional growth.
These tools are designed for vertical scaffolding: students can start screen-free, advance to coding exercises, and progress without extra staffing or technical expertise.
“Kai’s Education solutions is not just like another EdTech company. They are interactive, but they're also integrated, have cross-curricular progressive project based learning and are considered very high-quality lessons for our students to learn.”
Cynthia Lloyd, Canyons School District

Early Feedback from Districts
From the beginning, districts emphasized that they need computational thinking and hands-on resources—not just coding classes. Feedback has highlighted the importance of scaffolded and progressive curriculum, off-screen learning, and tools that any teacher can implement confidently. KaiBot has been integrated into many districts, such as Canyon School, Pasco County School, Eden Prairie School, and Durango School Districts.
Cross-Curricular and Scaffolded Learning
Kai’s Education integrates math, literacy, coding, and SEL in ways that complement classroom instruction. Market Math and Literacy Kitchen reinforce problem-solving and critical thinking in applied contexts, while KaiBot serves as a manipulative for early logic. These tools work in small groups, intervention settings, or full-class lessons.
“Kai’s Clan (now KaiLab) is something that was different. I love the fact that you can use the virtual viewer and the kids can bring their creativity into what they’re designing and coding.”
Bobbi Starling, Pasco County Schools

Looking Ahead
The future of K–5 STEAM and SEL is hands-on, applied, and intentionally screen-conscious. Kai’s Education is continuing to innovate with new experiences, expand partnerships, and support districts in creating engaging, future-ready classrooms.
