Everything you need is inside the box.
Before we jump right into it, let’s first dress up your little KaiBot and give it some personality! In your KaiBot box you will find some sleeves and stickers that you can use to decorate your robot however you like.

Switch KaiBot on at the back using the yellow switch.

Your KaiBot arrives with enough charge to let you start playing out of the box.

If you want to charge KaiBot, you can either use the USB cable in the box or with the autonomous charging dock (optional).

⓷  Once it’s turned on wait for the boot-up process to finish and it will display its unique ID.

💡Tip: Hold your horses! As much as it's exciting to jump into Kainundrum, we don’t recommend you pair KaiBot just yet, we’ll come back to this later.

You’re now ready to code your first sequence!

You’re now ready to code your first sequence!

First, you’ll need to grab your coding cards. Your KaiBot comes with a set of basic coding cards, including cards such as Record Program Start, Turn Left etc.   Look for the following cards and lay them down in an order like this:
Hover over to see what each card does!
Begins Recording
the sequence
KaiBot Moves Forward
Note the green asteriks * that means you can add a number card after it
This is a number card, use it with a movement card
Stops Recording
the sequence
Place Kaibot on this card to
Run
the sequence

KaiBot will move forward 2 times which is equivalent to 12″ or 30 cm and then it will stop.

💡Tip: If you use KaiBot with the magnetic KaiTiles, then the robot will move forward 2 tiles.

Next tap KaiBot on the “Record Program Start” card. This card or a “Record Function Start” card must always be scanned first.

After a successful scan, KaiBot beeps and displays the scanned card on the screen and the LED lights display white

Next lift up KaiBot, about ½” / 1cm away until the display changes to the red scan icon and the LED lights change to red also. KaiBot is now ready to scan the next card.

Repeat steps 5 and 6 and tap the Forward card and the number 2 card.

Once you have finished your program, you must scan the End program card because every beginning must have an end!

Finally, tap the Run program card

[3] [2] [1] GO!

KaiBot will now countdown from 3. Quick! Place KaiBot on the table before the timer runs out.
