Navigating the Future: Perspectives of the Younger Generation on AI and the shifts of the future

In a world where technology evolves at lightning speed, the younger generation stands at the forefront, embracing the possibilities and grappling with the uncertainties of the future. With the rise of AI, there’s a future of both excitement and uncertainty. There are so many new incredible technologies that provide a myriad of innovative opportunities for everyone alike. But, from the viewpoint of myself and others from these younger generations, the future with AI, while it brings excitement for technological progress, can bring concerns about job displacement and ethical dilemmas. As we gaze ahead, the rise of artificial intelligence (AI) looms large on the horizon, offering both promise and peril. Let me welcome you into the perspective of young minds as we navigate this ever-changing landscape.

Optimism is shared among the youth, fueled by the belief that AI holds the key to unlocking a future of boundless innovation. From healthcare to education, transportation to communication, the potential applications of AI seem limitless. It’s a reliable, adaptable tool for solving complex problems, driving efficiency, and enhancing human capabilities. AI can be used as a tool for innovation and collaboration, yet the potential impact on employment and the need for new skills is something we worry about. We advocate for ethical AI practices, environmental sustainability, and equitable access to technology. So many new and exciting potential choices for the future arise, with advancements in technology moving faster beyond what we can think. There are limitless possibilities, and it’s all easily accessible for our future, taking over our jobs, our schedules, and all of our workforces; AI can help in so many different ways. For many young people, AI represents an exciting frontier where imagination meets ingenuity.

Yet, amidst the excitement, concern lingers. The spectrum and adaptability of job automation casts a shadow over the job market, prompting questions about the future of employment for our youth. Will AI render certain jobs obsolete? How can we adapt and thrive in an era of rapid technological change? These are the pressing questions that weigh on the minds of the younger generation, driving us to seek solutions and new skills to stay relevant in the digitalized age.

However, ethical considerations also weigh heavily on the minds of young innovators—the old tale of the troller and the lever. Our minds recognize the importance of responsible AI development, advocating for transparency, fairness, and accountability in the use of AI technologies. From combating algorithmic bias to ensuring data privacy, ethical concerns shape their approach to AI adoption, guiding them towards a future where technology serves the greater good. Fear can stem from it, from the media we get exposed to, showcasing the horrors of AI development and world domination, but these fears can be mostly unwarranted.

At the heart of our perspective lies a commitment to inclusivity and sustainability. Us young people envision a future where AI is not just a tool for the privileged few but a force for positive change that benefits all of humanity. We strive for equitable access to technology for all across the globe, bridging the digital divide and empowering marginalized communities to thrive in the digital era. Moreover, we’re acutely aware of the environmental impact of AI and advocate for sustainable practices to minimize its carbon footprint.

As we embark on this journey into the future, let the communities heed the voices of the younger generation. Our optimism, coupled with our resilience and adaptability, to all issues that strike us, COVID-19, politics, and a surge of change, all serves as a guiding light in a world of uncertainty. Together, let us harness the power of AI and robotics to create a future that is not only technologically advanced but also ethically sound, inclusive, and sustainable. The future belongs to us, and it’s up to you to help ensure that it’s a future worth embracing, to provide us with the skills we need.

To be sure this future is secure, a new set of skills is needed to be developed by the future generations in order to keep up with the advancing digital world. Learning coding and programming will be an essential way of life in the future, to understand the pixelated algorithms and data as they intrinsically make up. Using KaiBot, we provide an easy inclusive pathway into coding. Not only does KaiBot unlock code just for the blind, but neuro-diverse and neurotypical students who can struggle to study in a normal environment can also improve and learn from KaiBot. Kai’s Education is fostering a hopeful gateway into the future, using KaiBot to introduce coding and Kai’s Clan to build up skills and learn Industry 4.0 technologies, which can help students collaborate into project-based learning, giving them team-working skills.

Our possibilities are far from endless when it comes to Kai’s Education, a surefire and inclusive way, paving a way for everyone to have a fair and equal chance in our digitized future, to hold a place for the race against AI, so not only can we keep up, but we can help to improve it, our own skills and our relationships with others. Just as AI has unlimited possibilities, Kai’s Education has unlimited opportunities. This allows us, as the younger generation, to grasp the future with our own two hands and walk forward, confident in the days to come.
