Inspire Students to design their own Robot Avatars
2021 Mars March Maker Madness Challenge!

Inspire Students to design their own Robot Avatars for the 2021 Mars March Maker Madness Challenge!

With the success of SpaceX and NASA launching their rockets into space, everyday we get closer and closer to landing humans on Mars. It is important to get students ready for the challenges ahead on Mars and preparing how we will terraform the red planet.

Spending most of 2020/21 in lockdown and quarantine, this is similar to how Astronauts will have to live while building the infrastructure to prepare for mass migration of humans from Earth to Mars.

Kai’s Mars Challenge invites students to design their innovative Mars Rover to help with the construction, farming, and terraforming of mars.

Students use Minecraft, Tinkercad or Fusion360 to design their Mars Robot Avatars.

Entries are divided  into 3 separate categories, Mars Base Construction/ Mars Base Agriculture and Mars Base Mining.

The winners will join in an online Kai’s workshop at the end of March, upload their avatars to real robots sitting in New Zealand to get ready for the Mars March Maker Madness Challenge.

In the Mars Base Construction category participants are asked to design their Mars Construction Robot Avatar. Students can upload their designs and on completion they will receive a Mars Base Construction certificate.
